Surya Namaskar was a small planet that orbited twin white dwarf and red dwarf stars that made for nearly perpetual daylight on the entire planet. As the red dwarf primary sun set in the east, the white dwarf rose in the west.
The white dwarf's magnetic field was very powerful, and possibly sentient. It acted as a central nexus linking all the minds of all the colonists. This resulted in the colonists being aloof and indifferent to off-worlders who came to visit. It also gave them shared dreams, hallucinations, and the power to kill others by directing negative thoughts against them.
Surya Namaskar was rediscovered by the Pathfinder Ship Lexington Keeler . The ship's chief physician and healer died on the planet when the inhabitants stopped believing he was alive (Book 06: Crucible ).
